May 27th through June 1st Photoset: Fukuoka

Yes, my camera was nicer than their photographer’s point and shoot. Running into that wedding vindicates my lugging the camera around at all times.

  1. I just love your pictures!! and I saw the kitty. You find me kitties everywhere you go. 🙂

  2. I really hope they didn’t mind you taking their pictures. I drooled over her uchikake (wedding kimono).

  3. I really hope they didn’t mind you taking their pictures, but I realized you probably were zoomed in. I drooled over her uchikake (wedding kimono).

    • They were right on a major pedestrian thoroughfare on the side of a large hotel overlooking the river. The pictures of the conference were just to the right of that little shrine. It’s used for lots of things… so I’m not sure how much more public it could have been, and I doubt they could be hurt publicly by my publishing of them, a public marriage isn’t like an illicit affair.

Everyone was totally focused on what they were doing, and with my 300mm (400mm effective) lens I don’t have to be all that close (so that was a safe assumption on your part), so I wouldn’t interfere. Except for the part where I waited so I could pass by, I think I was about 10-15 meters away, but not hidden as it’s an open walk way at the edge of the river.

Hey look, Google has street view from the other side of the river: http://goo.gl/maps/OTtK

I suppose they could still be upset were they to discover I took pictures, and that would be sad. However, no one said anything or even seemed to acknowledge my presence, so it’s probably fine.
